Rhythm to me can be a very difficult
thing to describe. My definition of rhythm would be an arrangement of different
sounds placed together to make a compatible piece of music. Rhythm can be a
very simple mixture of a couple sounds or much more complex.
I really enjoyed Miss Taylor’s
video. Music is not something I am real familiar with so not only would this
video be great for younger children learning but also someone like myself. I
liked the way she broke down what rhythm is and showed you by simply clapping
her hands. I didn’t have much I disliked but I think she could have expanded
more on rhythm but she did give a very good general definition.
Miss Taylor’s video was an
excellent example of good teaching. She was able to catch my attention with the
enthusiasm in her voice about what she was teaching. She presented the material by showing visuals
with the poster board behind her. Then she used examples by clapping her hands.
Also for someone like me that is not as familiar with music, she used language
and child friendly words. I think her video was enjoyable and can really help
get a basic understanding of what rhythm is.
